About the Author:
Noreen Moore was born in Iraq and lived in Qatar and Ireland before her family settled permanently in England when she was 10 years old. Her mother was from Tipperary in Ireland, and her father was from Yorkshire. Both parents encouraged her interest in reading and writing from an early age.
Moore's connection to Dalmatians developed through her father's adoption of a rescue dog and has continued throughout her adult life. She has rescued and cared for seven Dalmatians. Her current companion, Luna, was adopted through the British Dalmatian Welfare. Moore is a qualified interior designer who specialised in accessible environments for people with disabilities while working for local government in Hampshire. She has volunteered for many years as a Commissioning Editor for the British Dalmatian Welfare newsletters. Although she has moved on from that role, BDW remains very close to her. She still occasionally gets asked to visit potential adopters for a Dalmatian in their care, and Luna visits too. Her other interests include walking, travel, crafts, and studying art history with the U3A. The Magic Dalmatian was inspired in part by her late father, Philip Normand Moore, whose love for the breed influenced the development of the story.
